New to UTV upgrades, so my question is can I put 32x10 tires on wheels 15/7 4:3 0r 5:2 offsets without wheel spacers or other modification? Goal to run the same wheel and tires all around with the largest tire possible.

Yes you can i am running 32-11.50-15 on stock rims and the time i get any rubbing is when i run my 2 inch spacers i take my spacers off when i plow snow

  • On an X, you may experience some shock clearance issues in the rear, depending on actual rim offset (4+3 and 5+2, etc. measurements vary widely and are meaningless).
  • ON an X, you will rub when turning left and compressing the suspension with 32's, spacers and/or less wheel offset will only make this worse.
  • On both the R and X, you will be 3" narrower in the rear when running the same wheel offsets. This will help with high speed cornering but hurt with off camber stability.

great info PaulF thank you.

So if I run 30x10 tires that would clear me of all potential rubbing?

So much conflicting information out there hard for me with my lack of knowledge to get a clear yes or no with specific tire and wheel combinations

There is no magic "one size fits all" answer.

First off, when I say 30X10, I mean true 30X10. You will find that 30" tires vary from 28" to 31" and 32" tires vary from 30" to 33" inches. That is why you see one post that says 32's fit fine and another that says that 32's rub like hell on an X.

Next, an X+Y tire offset is completely meaningless. There are 5+2 wheels that range anywhere from +40 to +10 offset. That is over 1" difference so again, you will see one post that says 5+2 wheels are fine and another that says they are not. I will NEVER use X+Y type offset, I will always use +XXmm offset.

True 30X10X15 on +35 to +50 offset wheels will not rub on an X (front or rear).
True 31X10's with a rounded profile on +35 or greater offset wheels will most likely never rub but it will depend on the profile. If they do rub, it will be very slight.
True 32X10's will almost always rub under left turn/compression.

If you run aftermarket skids that hang off the front, you may have to trim them, even with 30's.

System 3 makes a wheel that looks pretty darn good but only up to 14x7 +10mm offset. if that’s the direction I decided to go what would you suggest for tires size on that? I
would like the machine to have even tracks all around so guessing I would rear spacers? Any disadvantages to running 14x7 vs 15x7 wheels?

You can get away with 30's on +10 but they might slightly rub on left/full compression turns. However, +10 in the front will mess with your scrub radius and cause bump steer and with the weak ass power steering that the Talon has, you will not like it at all. I would stick with a +35 or higher offset unless you pony up and get the 400 Watt PS Unit from Super ATV.

14X7 are a little close to the calipers and a-Arms but will work on an X without modification. On an R, you must trim the upper control arms to run 14's. Personally, all my rims are 14" on my R (14X7 dirt and 14X8 front/14X10 rear paddles) and I would never go back to 15's. I rock crawl a lot and run ~5 psi and was constantly pinch flatting 30's on 15's. I went to 32's on 14's (gaining 1.5" of sidewall) and now run 3 or 4 psi when crawling without issues.

Not sure what S3 wheel you are looking at but there are plenty of others out there. Rocky Mountain has a bunch but they don't list them correctly. I got a set but had to input a Can-Am X3 to get what I wanted (they use the same bolt pattern).

PaulF I appreciate the shared knowledge!

I have trail restrictions in my state capped at 65” width I haven’t mentioned yet, without considering that based on your recommendations in tread I’m now looking at 14x7 +38mm offset all around with BFG K3 32x10x14 tries. Riding style will mostly be packed trails with slight transition through rocky muddy sections, not planning on rock crawling. My questions with this wheel/tire combo:

Clearance issues?

Over all Width?

What size rear wheel spacers would be needed to have a squared stance?

  • They will rub.
  • 32's rob power, K3's are HEAVY and will rob even more power. You WILL notice it.
  • The math is easy, Going from +50 to +38 up front will add 1/2" width to each side and going from 9" to 10" tires will add another 1/2 to each side so you will be 66" with that combo.
  • When running same tires/wheel on all 4 corners, you will always need 1.5" spacers in the rear to square up a Talon (X or R).

Ok same idea as above just with 14x7 +38mm offset with 30x10 tires, looking for lighter tires. Will this rub?

I already answered that question...

I run 33x10 with 4:3 rims on all 4 corners with 1.5" spacers in the rear. Mind you, the actual tire diameter is between 32.25" to 32.5" depending on tire pressure. I only rub, as was mentioned in other posts, on full left turn and compression. I have SuperATV high clearance and 1.5" forward A-arms that need to be installed which should fix the problem.
