Here are the details of the box.

I installed it with Clevis pins, fender washers and hairpin cotters from Tractor Supply to mount it without straps yet can easily be removed. Here is the inside of the box.

This 125 L box may not be a permanent solution but it is working well until a better yet affordable solution arises in the aftermarket since Honda is so proud of their 90 L cargo box.

What are people using for Storage boxes in the Talon X? I can't afford $600.00 for the Honda OEM one.

Thanks,

I stole your idea used a rubber maid 24 gallon "go packer?" $25 from wal mart. Used the existing holes like you except I ran bolts up from the bottom, tightened in place with a washer and fender nut, put a plastic spacer then fender washer on top of that to make it level with main part of bed. Then on inside put rubber fender washer with steel fender washer on top, secured with plastic screw on knobs. If i need to remove I can without tools and then put the knobs back on to protect the bolts and cargo. May have overthought it a bit I think your system is simpler. Did same with sons Can Am Mav trail using the q link attachment slots. Just ground elevator bolts down to fit into slots and did same procedure.

Hey, I just posted an install and mini review of the Honda 35L storage box. Here is the link to the other forum post on it:

We followed someone else's idea and bought an $80 box from Tractor Supply Co. It fits perfectly in the rear of the Talon and we put a large soft cooler inside on one side, all our gear on the other side. It did take a little work to install- bought steel D rings and nylon quick-release straps to lock it down to the 4 existing D rings. Also put a strip of foam weather stripping around the edge and 2 T-handle latches to cinch down the lid. No rattle and it's nice and snug. Total cost under $100. Pics below.

I'm using a Rigid box bought it at Home Depot, and I put it in both ways and like this way the best. This allows a 2.5 gal gas can on the left and a cooler on the right. I have three tool bags inside, tools, winch accessories, and CO2 tank accessories. I'm still struggling with a spare tire option that would go on the roof rack. I did the Tractor supply 32" box also and I love it. Just put some door seal around the top and 4 Harbor Freight d rings and bunge it to the stock Honda rings and it works perfect. I used thick door seal so the stock latch works just fine. All for less than 100 bucks. Easy to remove to clean and get to the air cleaner.

What roof rack are you using. looks like you've added cross bars and bolted to factory roof bolts?
