Does anyone know how to reset clutch temp & get tranny gears in display on honda talon x
I didn’t know it needs a reset. What’s going on?
Yes. It has several lights blinking on display. Can't get gears to show on display.
Found this:

A new clutch temperature warning indicator has been added to the TALON 1000 gauge cluster / meter (another one of those fun words that’s called 1,000 different things) and that’s on both the 1000R and 1000X models. This indicator light (shown below) will flash to alert you if the clutch gets too hot. A few examples of what could cause the clutch to overheat are: slow speed rock crawling, using the accelerator to hold the vehicle on an incline, a stuck vehicle and the wheels are not turning, and attempting to pull an immovable object.
And this:

2019 TALON 1000R / 1000X Clutch Overheating Temperature Warning! –
Let’s talk clutches… Specifically the TALON 1000 and Pioneer 1000 DCT clutches. Since the TALON is considered a “true” sport side by side unlike the utility Pioneer 1000 lineup, does that mean there will be more of a warning before the clutches get too hot, before anything negative happens so-to-say? Yes!

Any update on this? Just had the same issue happen on mine. I rode a few hours yesterday and had no issues. Today I start it up and multiple lights are on. Clutch and check engine lights are flashing. Oil pressure and i4wd are on solid. Gear indicator light is just flashing and won’t go into any gear.
I had a problem but it was very specific to the installation of a MPH SpeedoHealer module. The clutch warning light came on and several light as well. This is very specific to my DCT installation. How the item was resolved. There are two speedohealer modules associated with the DCT instalation on a Talon 1000 and they must be insatlled and programmed on your Talon if they arrived pre-programed they must be reprogrammed on our Talon or the will not work properly and the clutch warning will come on and several other problems. I reprogrammed the modules for +24.1 and the problem was resolved. Again this is only for Talon 1000 with the transmission modules installed for an Internal Gear Reduction internal to the transmission. Not sure it this helps but the same symptoms I had. There was no reset of the clutch indicator just reprogrammed the shift modules (speedohealers).

Blue Dog,
I have the flashing transmission light and the PGM-FI light Is flashing. So it sounds like I have to make another trip to the dealer. This will be the second time in 3 weeks this machine has had to go back to the dealer, 90 minutes away from where I live. I’ve owned and driven 4-wheelers and side x sides since day one. Going back to the 70’s and back to the Kawasaki Mule’s And Yamaha Rhino’s. It appears to me Honda Side x side’s Suck, Honda dropped the ball. I don’t see these machines lasting more then a few years before the market gets flooded with used ones, making these machines worth nothing. Additionally, with all these issues Honda is pretty much forcing you to buy the extended warranty and again it’s up to Honda to agree if the problem is a Honda Problem.
So back to the issue at hand, do I need to go back to the dealer or is there another way I can reset these lights?

Actually with all of the mods on my Talon I am considering requesting a rebate on the remaining warranty. I am happy with mine and have not had the problems. No worries sounds like the best thing you can do is sell yours and be happy. My tuner will let me reset if you have one you should fix the problem then reset. Your dealer location didn't change, sorry it is not closer, but my favorite one is 100 miles from me as well. Hope you resolve the issues, ride safe and keep having fun.

BlueDog,
Selling isn't an option right now maybe Honda will Lemon Law it, lol. Which Tuner Do You Have?
Dyno Jet 3. Honda does not control of have Lemon Laws. That is a state thing I do believe and I am not sure if it applies to SXS or not. I take it your dealer is working with you, or are you just venting hot steam? If you are not happy move on is the best advice I can give unless you are just venting -- that I understand.
Yes, Venting, but I do want to go a week without having to return to the dealer for repairs. I don't like all these idiot lights, there could be nothing wrong and they start flashing. Until you just mentioned the Dyno Jet 3 and what it can do I see myself traveling to the dealer weekly or by-weekly to plug into the computer. Your finding the solutions quicker then Honda or maybe Honda doesn't want to fix, I don't know. But, anyway thanks for the information, I'm going to research today.

No worries, we all get frustrated when we can't go riding. I went this past weekend for the first time in well over a month. The good news was we spotted a bunch of baby gators and it was so nice to get back in the swamp. Good luck with the dealer, they sell I know that much for sure! I hope you get back to riding quickly and do not hesitate to call Honda direct. You should be riding not going to the dealer!
with gators you better keep yours running LOL

I purchased the service manual and followed a few thigs I thought that could be causing the problem. It turns out that the EOT Sensor plug unplugged from the sensor. I guess it was never secured from the factory.

Glad you found the problem and the service manual is a must for Talon owners.
