Spare Tire Opinions?

9713 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Ezgoin
I have the 2019 Talon X and am looking to add a spare tire setup. My thought was use a take-off of the factory front tire 28 x 9 this should fit front or back and have clearance either location.
This is what I did on my last ride and worked well, I rolled 1 tire off the bead and came seriously close to rolling a second at Rush off-road.
Any options on the spare tire size?
If any of you who have upgraded tires and wheels and willing to part with one or a set please IM me.
Thanks

How are you going to mount it ? Not a lot of options out there yet.
The plan was to get a tire, then figure out how and where to mount it. I figured I would get size and weight first, rather then purchase a mount and find out I don't like the location. (edited)
I think I like the first option better, I always carry a tote with misc tools and such, also small cooler. The first example seems to have better access to those!
I don’t think it will screw anything up. If anything running a smaller diameter tire on the front might make the computer think it’s getting tire slip on that side and engage the i4 differential. Probably best to stay in 2-wheel drive if running the small tire on front! Other than that I can’t see where it would cause any real problems.
