New 21rlv has 5 miles on it.. Should I be able to shift out of park and into any gear without the key being in the ignition and the vehicle started? Is there not a shift lock like on standard cars?

No SxS that I have ever seen has a shift lock. Probably not conducive with the dusty atmosphere that a SxS is subjected to.

Many (including the Talon) will even start in gear with your foot on the brake.
