Anyone install the Ryco street legal kit on their Talon yet? I just ordered one and looking for advice or tips on the install. I hear they are a good kit with good instructions, but nothing beats first hand experience!

Yes, I have done it. If your have not opened or installed your Ryco, from my experience I would return it and go with XTC, if you are an aggressive rider or do much rock crawling. The Ryco lever will click on all the time under marginal bumps and jumps or in particular rock crawling. Also, I have found the XTC to be much superior in cable quality, brightness, and WAY,easier to install over the Ryco. Plus, the XTC uses your existing lights for your tail lights, has high quality wires and Y coupling for the rear. The XTC uses a rocker switch that has auto turn off, so nice! Levers are for cars, not sport machines and cause problems. Also, another problem with the Ryco horn is it sounds like a 1956 French micro car, and it fails if it gets any moisture in it. The XTC gives you a loud normal horn that people can hear you. This is important if your are on a trail/ride and someone does not have a radio with them, or you need to get past a Polaris RZR before their belt breaks in front of you; they will for sure hear the XTC horn, loud and clear. I had 3 of my Ryco cheap couplings fail and had to solder them. China crap! Each front turn signal has 3 lights on the Ryco and my buddies constatnly teased me that sometimes they did not all work at the same time, if it was hot outside. So far the XTC works flawless. I got a deal on a Ryco from a connection in the industry, BUT I wished I had not wasted the time installing it, and from my experience was money tossed away. It’s not that this was really a big expense to rather my time to rip it all out, and install an XTC system. The other thing I like is the XTC license plate, which is just clean, strong metal, and bright ! The one I got with my Ryco was cheap and the lights failed. However, I don’t remember if Ryco made it rather it came in the kit. Anywhooo...

I also recommend the bus connector! It’s great! However, I probably would have done the 6 switch power control if it had been available. However, I have everting in mine, rocker lights, winch, floods, sector sevens, camera gimbal, PCI headsets radio, and so on, and the bus worked perfect. Here is a link for the XTC stuff but maybe there is a cheaper source I don’t know or if one of the sponsors on this site re-sells them, they should give you a promotion code:

It’s because I had to keep messing with it to the point of removing it. I guess you could just look on each companies website and just look at pictures and it’s obvious which one has good connectors and less work to install. Lol. Overall, I think the majority of sales on all SXS are that people take them out pretty mellow, need the street legal kits, and they work just fine. However, if you ride aggressive, and want a more quality unit, look at what XTC offers.
