I finally got my rugged radio setup this past weekend. I am looking for info and photos from your install. I know I need to cut out the middle compartment but I want to make sure I do not cut too much as well as stay ll day cutting a little off each time. ha until it fits. Also what doid you do for waterproofing the back of the radios and intercom systems.

Thanks in advance for your info!!!!

RR is a terrible sounding, overpriced, not private communication system. Save your money and use a proven, top quality, private, intercom system from Sena.com

I didn't go with a Rugged Radio set up but rather bought pieces and put together my own system. I have the waterproof TYT TH-8600 VHF/UHF radio mounted under the dash behind the steering wheel.

and a FlightCom aircraft intercom in the glove box. This has worked out extremely well since the intercom gets set once and then left alone.

I programmed the TH-8600 with the Rugged Radio channels, PCI Radio channels, FRS, GMRS and some ham frequencies since I am a licensed ham operator.

Here is my Rugged Radio setup, been happy with it so far works great. Try to keep the wires apart like the directions say and install the filters and the sound quality should be good, probably wasn’t necessary but I put loom around every wire before I installed everything but it doesn’t hurt. I’m probably gonna add the PCI frequencies and maybe some others with the RT solutions software. The IPad is in a mob armor case with a RAM C ball mounting setup, and my preferred app is OnX off-road which is great but I do occasionally use some others too.

I bought a used 2019 R 2 Seater that had the RR setup just like yours in it. I have bought another RR setup for my 2021 X Live Valve. On the R I get engine noise in the system. Static that is directly correlated to RPM. I have moved the grounds, I have run power (took the new uninstalled power cord) to an independent power source and that helped, but using the same cord completely outside the vehicle to the battery and the noise is back. I disconnected the antenna completely. I am at a bit of a loss.

anyone have any suggestions to clear this engine interference with the radios?

My RR installation is a little outside the box - my center console is full of switches and after doing all the wiring to get it how I wanted it, I decided I wasnt changing that. I did a custom install overhead and I am just about done;
