That's what I was wondering if it can be blown out and reused unlike the factory filter....ThanksI have about 100 miles on my R2C filter in very dusty conditions. Checked it after the last ride and it looks great. Blew it out with air and put it back in. So far, it appears to be money well spent. Kinda a pain to bolt in, but it isn't too bad.

I purchased mine from side side in Idaho also. Also installed a KWF particle seperator. Lots of clean air in dusty conditions.

It is seated but I was thinking that the grease was a good idea. i was going to try that this week. I have tons of itMake sure your cover is seated against o ring. I use grease on o ring and mating surface to seal.
I installed mine and went for one ride, pulled the air filter cover and i had a light film as well. Im curious as to how your second trial went. I hope i didn't dust my motor in one ride. Pretty disappointing having spent over a hundred dollars.I got the r2c and i rode twice lots of sticky dust and theres a light film in my intake. So i cleaned and put the oem Ill try it again but i just dont understand the film but i do not have particle seperator
KWT same effect but without electrical and screaming motor. Why not just install S&B particle separator? I put new filter in when I installed the S&B and just pulled for inspection and the OEM filter still appears new. 1800 Miles of service. Couldn't be happier...
