Anyone have issues with front hood coming loose or wanting to take flight while riding at speed? Simple enough fix but, seems like Honda would have not had to put much thought into preventing something of this nature. I doubt it would actually break free entirely but when it starts lifting up and flapping in the wind it looks ridiculous. Seriously Honda, I might have been doing around 40mph.

Don’t take this wrong, but are you sure the front tabs are secure in the slots before pushing the pieces into the rubber grommets and twisting the lock mechanism? I have noticed the front grommets don’t seem to push down with a satisfying snap, like the rear grommets do, but if the front part of the lid is secure in the slots, it can’t flap.

I'll take a closer look for the tabs you mentioned as I've likely over looked them all together. Indeed, if there are tabs that makes perfect sense. I been thinking just the 4 grommets and 2 twist clips were all that secured it lol. Kind of like an old side panel on a bike that only had grommets. Again, I'm positive I missed the clips or overlooked them entirely! Boy do I feel dumb. Thank you for your input and rapid response Dave, much appreciated!

Them clips are definitely obvious and very, extremely, secure as well! More like locking blocks! Beefy as all get out. Still can't believe I missed them! They work like a charm as long as they're engaged! ???

Yea I did the same thing. Got out twice to snap the “flapping” hood down. Was kinda pissed that Honda could be so dumb and not make a decent fastening system. Well I was the dumb one....lol
Anyway, yes when you fit the front hood tabs into the right place it works just great, when you don’t it makes a great speed limiter!?
