Trip to HM last week was awesome. Rode Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Got rained out on Tuesday. We stayed at the Local Goat Cabins in Delbarton, WV. Very nice. Rode Green & blue trails, no black ones. We got on some outlaw trails to begin with & ended up driving through a long ass culvert that we barely fit in and coming out in a construction company’s yard. The guys there were cool about it and we definitely weren’t the first ones to come through their yard. The Talon performed flawlessly. I was very impressed with the capability. I never really needed 4 WD. Our friends had a Razor XP Turbo, which was pretty sweet in its own right. This was our first real trail riding trip. We had only put about 150 miles on it since we got it in Nov. & about 35 miles of that was in the Ocala Nat’l Forest here in Fl. The rest of it was just running around the neighborhood. We put almost 200 miles on it this trip. We rode 5-6 hours per day. Most of it was low speed, lots of hairpin turns with steep inclines & declines. Never had to use low range. Excellent engine braking. The brakes worked really well too. The most gas we used in one day was 4.2 gallons. By contrast the Razor required about an extra gallon. We were following our friends on the trails since they have a lot more experience and they also had the trails downloaded on their I-pad. So we are a lot of dust. We have the particle separator and when I checked the air filter after we got back it was pristine. Good investment. Oh, we take our dog with us everywhere. We bought one of the hammocks for the back seat and tethered her harness to the grab bar. Excellent set up. Pretty much tangle free. She loves to ride. Sorry for the rambling write up but kept thinking of stuff while I was typing. Next trip will hopefully be the one to Az. I know this machine would be a blast out there.
