I tore my lower ball joints while installing high clearance A-arms. So today I changed out the ball joints. Other than the normal tools you probably already have, I purchased a Maddox Ball Joint Service Kit from Harbor Freight and a 30mm Socket from Autozone. I recommend greasing the screw on the Maddox Ball Joint Clamp. I used an impact gun to work the screw on the clamp, I think you would struggle mightily if trying to do this with a wrench or ratchet.. The 30mm socket serves double duty, first you'll use it to remove the axle nut then later you will use it to press the ball Joint in. I'm attaching a few pics of the process. I hope this is helpful to someone. The first side took me an hour and a half, the second side took 15 minutes.
