I have a hard time getting in to low range. The shifter doesn't want to go back far enough to engage the low range. Is anyone else having trouble?
Yes, you have to slam it back hard. You might want to take it back to the dealer and have them adjust the cable, might be incorrect. Some people even grind the shift gate to allow a little more travel. Be very careful to make sure its really engaged, people posted they have ruined their subtransimisison when it slipped out.
Good info. The manual says to have the dealer service it. This is the best adjustment info I have found on the net Shift selector lever adjust Talon 1000 - The Honda Side by Side Club! You do need to adjust your cable. It is an easy process but in the first couple hundred miles the cable will definitely need to be adjusted but after the first initial cable stretch adjustment you won't need to mess with it as much. Be very careful about continuing to drive it without adjusting the cable. That will lead to low range problems. I have adjusted people's cable on the trail in a matter of 15 minutes. It might even show how in your owner's manual but I can't remember.
