I am looking for ideas for mounting an LED light bar that is compatible with a super atv flip up windshield. It doesn't look like mounting it at top of windshield will work. Anybody mounting a light bar on the hood?

I did Rigid pro spots on the front bumper and A pillars. Also check your stock headlights, mine were way low out of adjustment.

Mine is on the roof (green machine). 42" curved with some custom bracketry. Works killer up there. Throws good light and no glare...

thanks fellas. I would really like to get it up on the roof line but will have to do a little red neck engineering to make it work with the flip up split windshield.
You know if you mounted it on the same connectors that secure the roof, it might be high enough and hopefully not reflect off the flip up when open.

Many like the roof top lights and they look awesome. I prefer a lower aspect since I mainly trail ride and it brings out the road contours a little better at a lower angle.

thanks that is a good point. will mostly be trail riding also and less likely to bang them on a low hanging limb or something. I am thinking about going with a 20 inch Black Oak and either mounting on the front bumper or hood right behind the radiator access

I just posted a response on this in another forum topic: https://www.talonsxsforum.com/threads/mirrors.283/#post-1297

I also like a full (not partial) flip windshield .... I have run Sector Seven Lights/Mirrors and found them to be superior even to upper light bars made by Baja Designs. They have a Bung mount and their bracket is low profile so I bet they have a solution for your windshield. I won't run any other mirror / lights than Sector Seven and from me wasting money on multiple systems ( lower light bars, pods and so on) I have found they way outperform most smaller pod/bar units, hands down.

I explain why these work so well over "upper" light bars, and the crappy mounting Rigid light pods, if you read that other forum post on mirrors but basically, you get 2 in one, you can put the light instantly where you want it. Best system on the market.

Glare issues? What light bar and was that the included mount? I love that look!
when the window is flipped up you do get a little glare, not to bad though. I ordered lower profile brackets from amazon and then drilled out the original brackets and used them as well to mount the light bar kinda like angle iron, I don't really know how to explain. sorry it was a 42 inch light bar.

I did a 42 inch single row, and attached it to the existing super atv flip up upper mounting clamp bolt holes. View attachment 1418

Thumper... Sweet setup. This is the best look I have seen. I too have the flip windshield and want to install a light bar. Would it be possible to post a side view pic please? I want to see how much the light bar sticks out. Also... do you wish you got a curved bar now that you’ve had this? That’s the debate I’m having. Thanks!

I use both: roof mount (single row curved 37") and front bumper mount (7"). I adjusted my headlights because they were way out of adjustment. The setup works great shedding plenty of light everywhere it is needed.
