I picked up a brand new 2021 Talon LV on Monday and had it delivered. Drove it into my garage and haven't had a chance to really ride it due to work all week, also I've been waiting for some accessories to come in. Today I took it out for the first time to install some of the stuff that arrived and I noticed some rusted parts and scratched up shifter stem on my brand new unit. I asked and was told it was stored inside at the dealership.

Here are some pictures... it's on a few other spots, I took one picture of each side but it's the same on both. Is this normal? Any input would be great as this is my first time buying a brand new honda sxs.

Other than the shift shaft, all looks normal and the same as my new machine. These machines get delivered, may set out back, get parked in front of the dealer during the day and get rained on or even condensation from temp swings will rust those parts .

Wow that’s terrible, and was nothing like the machine I picked up. No rust all parts looked out of the box. I think something is up with what you are seeing and personally would be unhappy. A used machine you would expect those things but man they used a hammer on your shifter or something. 😕

My shifter looked exactly like that. Looks like some sort of oxidation. Also had a couple places with surface rust, but I just sprayed a little oil on it to keep it from progressing. It’s not ideal, but I still love my Talon
