Honda had already begun to release some teasers for the upcoming Talon and I just wanted to share one ad that I've already come across. This also gives us a first look at the sxs' exhaust note.

Great video but I think they could have highlighted on its many attractive features.
Awesome advertisement and obviously a direct response to what Yamaha produced with the YXZ1000R series. I know sales have really dropped off on the YXZ models so I'm curious to see how something with less HP fares. Will badge be enough?

I see it as the capable side by side for those that always wanted a Honda and not just settle for Yamaha or Polaris. Honda does well with ATV's so already lots of eyeballs willing to jump at this.
Reliability is huge for avid sxs enthusiasts. I think a lot of them will be happy to move away from rubber belt CVT's and over to Honda's DCT gearbox.
Honda wins on many ends. Performance aside, the seating is perfect and reminds me of some sporty Honda passenger vehicles I've been in. My old 8th Generation Civic Si being one.
Considering how reserved Honda typically is, this is a really bold step for them. Their badge has a lot of buying power, even if the Talon is found not to be the best sports sxs in the segment.

Not bold to be honest.
When a segment is seeing record sales and you just step in to grab your piece of the pie, its a matter of not wanting to disappoint your shareholders. It was for us too but still largely profit driven.
They haven't just taken a cookie cutter approach to this sxs though. They've developed a brand new transmission that is the first of its kind in this segment.
Thats why I think they have room to expand because I can tell you right now that putting all this research and development into one product is only good for the short term. Long term will require an expansive line up
I'm confident that Honda realizes this is just a launching point for this segment and it would be foolish for them not to consider new versions in future MY's. Assuming they hit their target numbers, I'm hoping we all see models that slot below it as an entry level option.
