Honda is going to court to find out how early pictures of the Talon found their way to the Internet. With huge investments made into this new machine and the facility that's manufacturing it, Honda does not want unauthorized leaks to jeopardize their competitive advantage. Would it not make more sense that one of their employees simply shared some pictures during R&D that made their way online? Leaks are fairly common in the industry these days, and I doubt that a lawsuit will do much to change that.

Something like the Talon has been a long time coming for Honda, so even prior to these leaks we could have guessed what they would deliver based on the specs from segment leaders. There are always going to be enthusiasts trying to get early details.

Leaked pictures are one thing but there were also early listings of specs way before Honda was ready to announce them. Odds are they are just trying to prevent future leaks, since we can expect new variants of the Talon in the future.
