So I do a lot of work on CAN Bus integration from GM to Jeep vehicle platforms. Manly we take GM LS V8 engines and put them into newer jeep wranglers and integrate all the computer so they all work together thru the CAN BUS.
It got me thinking about the Talon. I noticed on the data connector under the seat that there was a twisted pair of wires. Im willing to bet that most of the systems in the Talon are "CAN" based and communicate thru this network.
Im going to hook up and see what data I can pull from the system and start a database on what functions I may find. If this works out them we may be able to design modules that will work on the bus to either input functions or output functions.
My first application would be a Stop Lamp - Reverse Lamp output. I would take the CAN based message and use a module to output a signal for a external stop lamp or reverse lamp. This would make adding options very easy and you wouldn't have to hack into the harness and try to find the feeds. it would also isolate any aftermarket items from the factory harness and fuse box.
Lets start throwing up some ideas together and see what can be done. if there is something you would like to see applied please comment below.
