How many gallons have to be drained from a completely full tank (8.3 gallons) before the gauge level bars start to disappear?

I can put at least 40 miles on mine and there is no movement from the gauge at all.

This thread I started was because (in my opinion) my fuel gauge wasn't working properly.

So..........

Did some draining and re-filling of my tank last night.

Dealership said they filled the tank for me after my first 100 mile service.

1.) After pumping out all of the fuel I could, I retrieved 7 gallons. At this point the fuel gauge read completely full.
2.) Emptied the tank and the last bar flashed between black and red so gauge is working at empty.
3.) Filled back one gallon and only first bar is lighted with no red flashing.
4.) Filled back 2 gallons and three bars are present.

Apparently my fuel gauge isn't that accurate at the fuller levels.
