I got on here to do some pre-purchase research. I don’t know if a Talon is a good idea or not. In my fifty years of motorcycle experience that started with a Honda Mini-Trail, I’ve never heard of any Honda of any form having oil leaks. Is this as big of a problem as it seems?

Not very many leaks for sure.

If you are talking about the LF dif seal, good chance it will be your first Honda leak in those 50 years! Mine started seeping at about 500 miles. I just keep adding an ounce or two of oil every few hundred miles. I am hoping the reports here that they often "spontaneously re-seal" are true. In any case, not the biggest deal and it remains under warranty if I later decide it needs to be replaced.

Hi, I have a 2020 Talon X. I have had both front and rear diff seal seeping issues twice. Both were replaced under warranty. I have had no other fluid leak issues with 3,000 miles on my machine.

The diff seal is a nothing burger. If it seeps (almost all do) I wouldn't even worry about it. If it's actually leaking it's a 30 minute repair with a $4-$5 seal.

I have no oil leaks after 3,200 miles..front left rubber gear boot some signs of oil on outside but oil level seem stable..
