So, I decided to add a SATV rear windshield to my 1000x4. Order was delivered fast. Label on box says it is correct for my machine. Open box, make sure everything is there, test fit , yay, ready to install.
Watch the Youtube Video from SATV on how to install. Looks simple enough.
Now the fun begins. First, the weather strip is a royal pain. Did the suggested soak in hot water, but remembering what a pain it was on the front SATV windshield, I took it in stride, sorta.

Now the fun part. The bracket for the top, created nothing but problems on the install. I struggled for about 2 hours, watch video again, and try harder. Finally call SATV tech support.
While on hold, I look again at instructions. WHAT ! The face page shows 2 different top brackets. 1 for the Talon, 1 for Talon 4. So I realize the bracket I have is for the regular Talon. Tech guy gets on the phone, and wants a picture of said bracket before he will send correct part. WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE HELL. This is the second order with the wrong parts.
When I got my front windshield, 1 of the 4 tube brackets was 1.75, and the other 3 were correct 2 inch. GREAT QC guys.
I am glad that this will probably be my last add.

Ouch! Well...at least our inconsistency has been consistent. :ROFLMAO: Lol! Sorry buddy. We're trying to keep up with everything here, and we still have a lot of training to do. Hope they went ahead and sent out all the correct brackets. If not, just shoot me a pm with some info and I can get them out the door.

They claim the correct parts are on the way. Your response kinda puts light on the situation. No doubt, I was, am kinda pissed. That being said, I guess it is the way the world is going. Kids are too busy to pay attention, and there is no recourse for when they fail. God I hope it was not an old guy that messed up.
The fact that you checked in means a lot.
Be safe

Your experience is enlightening - I had the same experience with the top bolt, but instead of noticing the bracket diff or calling SATV, I jury rigged my own solution. no exaggeration, i spent 90 min trying to get the top bolt to line up- can’t really see what issue is when hand is in the way trying to get bolt started- finally gave up and got a small bolt and nut (very small to fit thru the fitted nut) and tightened it down.

Irritates me that the problem was SATV QA issue.

I drilled the "wrong bracket" prior to realizing that it was wrong. Then the customer service rep asked for a picture. I was pissed that he didn't believe me, and wanted photo proof. I was also pissed that I did not see that the bracket sent was wrong. I still have the email from when they sent the wrong mount for my windshield a while ago.

Not just an SATV issue. Ordered a Scissor Jack kit from Rocky Mountain. The mounting bracket for the jack, even though their records show I have Talon with 2 inch ROPS, came in 1 7/8. I called, they sent another one, same size. My jack will ride on top of the spare tire. GGGGGRRRRRR

Yep, its a pain man, and sorry for all the hassle. Hopefully the guys on the phone got you fixed up. They are required to ask for pics and order info for our own documentation. EVERYTHING gets recorded, so if we run into multiple issues...we can stop the presses and check it out. You can always message me here directly too.

Yeah, it sounds like it is gonna be ok. I like your stuff, just get frustrated when your 5 minute and 6 second video, turns into 3 days for me. I am beginning to think there may have been some editing?????

On a side note, why is there no SATV sticker on the rear windshield like the front one? I like the glazed look of the one up front.

Same here, I like SATV products and the quality Of them. Have typically found them to be problem free when installing, but for two exceptions - the 6000lb winch and recently the rear windshield. The winch had one bolt that was hell to get lined up and tightened. But i got it after a while. I greatly appreciate you jumping into conversations with input.

Lol! Yep...those videos get sped up like 50x during the slow monotonous stuff without info or commentary.

And I love that glazed insignia on there. I'm guessing we're not doing the rears because you're not really looking out of it. And it probably takes about 10 minutes per piece to do it. Pretty cool to watching that laser etching though.
