Air Pressure

I put Kanati Mongrels 30/10-15 on my x4 LV. What kind of pressure should I be running?

Tire shop that mounted them put in 9lbs. Honda says 14-16. Tire sidewalls don't say anything.

I just don't want to screw them up.

GBC website says 910 lbs per tire at 20 psi. That would be about 2 times the weight of your talon so for general riding I would start around 10 psi and go from there.

If you have beadlocks, you should drop to 5-6 psi for rock crawling or sand dunes. If no beadlocks, I would not go lower than 8.

Thank You,
I went at 10, and will see how it goes. I can't wait to get her out with the new shoes!
Spent yesterday working on the KWT.
Thanks again

I have the same tires, same size on an X2 and also run 10 psi. I don't rock crawl and am nowhere near sand so its road and trail riding.

Well, we went out to the desert, and I was not happy at all. Prior to leaving, I set tires at 11 PSI. Granted, I was going to go 10, but 40 years driving a truck makes low air pressure a hard pill to swallow.
Anyway, buggy felt really twitchy. Like it was swaying back and forth. The pressure did go up with tire temp, to about 14. I know that seems like a big gain, but it happened. Tire tracks showed I was riding only on the center of the tire.
Dropped the pressure to about 9 or 10, and the ride got MUCH better.
Going out tomorrow again. Took the pressure down to 8.5. We will see how this goes.

Did you happen to measure the height on the 30" Kanatis when they were new? And off the vehicle? I put on the 30" Terrabites and am not happy with the height (28 7/8"). Thinking my next set will be the Kanatii. Thanks
MMMM, I think they were real close to 30 inches.
That being said, I have determined that they like being run at about 8 to 8.5 PSI. This is hard on me based on prior life as a truck driver.
Either way, they do work. They tend to throw some mud and rocks, but ride nice. It took some getting used to. They don't have a flat footprint like the factory tires. Kinda feels like you are on ice at first, but I got used to it. That is how I determined the lower pressure.
Also, these are the only UTV tires Costco sells. Since I'm cheap, this is the way I went.
Good luck

I measured my spare at 10psi, I have 29 3/4" using a level and tape measure. Wrapping a string around the tire I got 29.9" so pretty close to a true 30" tire

I'm putting the Terra Master 31x10r15's on SB-4 beadlocks today.
Got one done last night and a quick check with 15lbs in tire was 30.25" which is right where I want it.
Bummer I have to wait for lug nuts to be delivered.
