Air Intake Location

5688 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Idiot
It seems to me that the location of the air filter intake is allowing it to breath in all the dirty air kicked up by the right rear tire thus clogging the filter up way too soon. Has anyone come up with a solution to this? Maybe some kind of a relocation kit, but not a snorkel could be made by the aftermarket. Don't need a full snorkel i live in the desert.

HI Idiot, I am with you on the poor design of the intake location ect.
Tried to send you a link to SBFilters, Particle separator.
But for some reason it thinks I am spam.
Great unit and will cure the problem.

They are in the design stage for their unit and it should be available in about a month.
I will be installing one as soon as it hits the market...DRK

I forgot to mention RC2 filters are designing a reusable (cleanable) filter for the Talon also.
They have a very good product.
My last trip out in the desert I report the worst fuel mileage on my Talon at 14.5 mpg.
122 miles and 8.4 gal of fuel.
Just checked my air filter a few minutes ago and found out why....Air filter was totally plugged with dust....
I had just checked it about two weeks ago and was not to bad. But two long rides in our great Arizona desert over whelmed it....DRK
