Does anyone know where you can purchase the tool(s) to replace the CV joint boot bands on the Talon. I have been told several part numbers: Oetiker 7000-393 which will do both large and small bands. The Honda service manual specifies Oetiker 14100134 for the large band and Oetiker 14100393 for the small band. A similar tool that will do the job other than Oetiker is also acceptable. I have searched everywhere and cannot find a source in the US.

Thanks

I could never find them available and what I gathered they are EXPENSIVE!

I purchased the Oetiker 14100496 in hopes they would work but they do not (out of the box anyway). For the small clamps, I can use them with some cheater pipes and get by but for the large clamps, cheater bars didn't even come close so I fabbed some adapters and use a hydraulic press to push the plier's pinch ends together. Yes, it takes a shitload of pressure to do the large clamp. The down side is I cannot do them in the car.

So, you will need the real tool or you will never get the large one snapped together without some ingenuity.

All - search for band clamp tool, looks like there are some cheap versions and check how to use on utube.....

if you are doing a lot, you can by the band and buckles in bulk.

in a pinch I used 1/4"/3/8"
