Must be regional pricing. My local dealers quoted 419.And sit down before you read this..... it's $613 . Yes, you read that correctly it's like 4 hours of labor because they adjust/ check valve clearance plus all fluids changed. They have to remove the seats and the firewall behind the seats to get to everything ?
Hi Big had, that is roughly the same the local dealer quoted me here in Florida. I internet video coupled with maintenance manual to do the work. Mine was used 15 hours on it and the dealer did the first two maintenance updates before I picked it up. Replacing the fluids and filters is no big deal. If you have not adjusted valves you might get help from a mechanically inclined friend or have the dealer just do the valve adjustments. That way you an have more money for accessories!Must be regional pricing. My local dealers quoted 419.
That's exactly how I thought about it?I’m fully capable of performing the work. Just too lazy these days. Besides, I kinda want the records in Honda’s database.?
It’s cheaper with the local repair shop but I was just worried about the warrantyI would call the dealer check their price then call any local shops who work on SXSs. The local shops probably known these vehicles as well or better.
So do you recommend taking my talon in to a Honda dealer for the first service?
as long as you document the services, it doesn’t matter where you take it or do it yourself. If you have a warranty repair, then take it to the dealer. Under warranty I had the left front differential seal repla twice and a leaking fox shock. It’s cheaper with the local repair shop but I was just worried about the warranty
thank you for the infoas long as you document the services, it doesn’t matter where you take it or do it yourself. If you have a warranty repair, then take it to the dealer. Under warranty I had the left front differential seal repla twice and a leaking fox shock.
You're probably fine but if it were me, I would but only because of my OCD. I also have a fluid extractor to suck out excess oil instead of removing the drain plug again.Idiot question here, i just did the first oil change at 150 miles. . and like a fool i dumped 7 whole quarts in after replacing the filters and letting the 12mm and 17mm drain plugs off for about 30 min. it was empty empty before adding new oil. the dip stick is hard to read because the lines are so close but after 7 quarts and warming up for 5-7 minutes the dipstick reads at the top or maybe slightly above the top line. should i drain a little out to be safe??
Thanks. Yes my OCD was getting the better of me and I ran to hobo-freight and bout a fluid transfer hand pump for $7 and sucked out 800ml. Really handy little thing,Thank you! You're probably fine but if it were me, I would but only because of my OCD. LOL almost did! Found a hand pump at harbor freight and sucked outta the dipstick hole.Borrow the wife's turkey baster if you don't have a fluid extractor. Add a piece of hose to the end of it if you need to.
(Throw away afterward)
